Inspired by the overall uniform worn by land girls during the second world war and in particular Amelia King who was a British woman refused entry in the Women's Land Army because she was black. This example of racial segregation in the UK was debated in the House of Commons and the decision would eventually be reversed. Once accepted she worked at Frith Farm in Hampshire; Frith is an old English word that combines the meaning of loyalty, friendship, freedom, and sanctuary.

Peace, protection, refuge- the cognate root of the word frith is friend
